From One Roof to a Total Home Transformation: Celebrating 5 Years of A&S Construction, LLC

Five years ago, and after 10 in the industry, I made a decision that felt both exhilarating and a little bit daunting: I decided to open my own construction company. I didn’t just want to work in the field; I wanted to lead it.

As an immigrant, I learned early that nothing is handed to you. You earn it. I watched my family work tirelessly, take pride in doing things the right way, and hold onto their word as their most valuable asset. That foundation shaped how I show up today, not just as a contractor, but as a business owner responsible for people’s homes, savings, and trust.

I founded A&S Construction with a single roofing division and a lot of determination. Today, as I look back on that journey, I am incredibly proud to say that we have grown into a full-service exterior remodeling powerhouse, offering siding, windows, gutters, patios, and decks in the Residential and Commercial worlds.

But the road to becoming one of the top 3 companies in Frederick County wasn’t paved with ease. It was built with perseverance.

Breaking the Mold

Entering a male-dominated industry as a solo Hispanic woman came with its share of challenges. There were moments when I had to work twice as hard to prove my expertise and earn a seat at the table. However, I never let the “status quo” define my potential.

There were days when I walked onto job sites knowing I would be underestimated before I ever spoke. Days when I questioned whether being different would always mean having to prove more. But I reminded myself why I started: to build something honest, lasting, and rooted in service.

I leaned into three core values that have since become the backbone of A&S Construction:

  • Perseverance: We never back down from a complex project.
  • Reliability: When we say we’ll be there, we’re there.
  • Quality of Work: We treat every home as if it were our own.

The “Woman’s Touch” in Construction

People often ask me what it’s like being a woman in this field. Honestly? I’ve come to see it as my greatest competitive advantage.

Construction isn’t just about hammers and nails; it’s about people and their dreams. As a woman, I bring a unique level of heart, patience, and empathy to the table. I understand that choosing the right siding color or the perfect deck layout is a big emotional and financial investment.

For many families, a home is more than a structure. It’s safety, stability, and a place where memories are made. I never forget that when a client invites us in, they are trusting us with something deeply personal. That responsibility is never lost on me.

I take the time to listen, to guide, and to help our customers navigate the design process until they feel 100% confident in their choices. That connection is what turns a “contractor-client” relationship into a partnership.

Looking Ahead

In a time when uncertainty feels louder than ever, I believe people are craving businesses they can trust, which are companies that show up, keep their word, and stand behind their work. That belief guides every decision we make at A&S.

To our Frederick County community: Thank you. Thank you for trusting a woman-owned business and for helping us grow from a small roofing startup into the multi-division success we are today.

Every project, every referral, and every kind word has helped shape this company. I don’t take that lightly. This business exists because a community believed in me,

Whether you need a leak fixed or a brand-new outdoor oasis designed, A&S is here to prove that with the right heart and the right hustle, anything is possible.
